The expansion is complete
After lengthy preparations, the first groundwork began in autumn 2024, and the project really took off in early 2025, with completion scheduled for autumn of the same year. Both the expansion and the refurbishment have proceeded as planned.
Step by step, our new premises have taken shape, resulting in 600 square metres of extra floor space with a new warehouse and larger production area, enabling us to streamline our work and create an even better production flow.
We are very pleased with the result and look forward to continuing to develop in our new, modern premises.
Our heat transfers are certified according to OEKO-TEX® standard 100, product class 1, which has the strictest regulations. Our heat transfers are therefore approved also for baby products.
OEKO-TEX® performs testing on textiles and also on products associated with garments and textiles. For example, buttons, zippers, sewing thread, heat transfers and other applications. The chemical testing checks for substances which are hazardous for humans and the environment. The list of prohibited substances is updated each year, so we need to renew our certificate yearly. We just received our new certificate for our water-based, PVC free heat transfer. A product we are very proud of!

It is with great pleasure that we at Perma Press can announce that our expansion is in full swing. This project, which we have been working towards for some time, is an important part of our continued expansion and growth. We are looking forward to taking our business to new heights, and we expect the new premises to be ready in spring 2025.
This expansion is a result of the trust our customers and partners have shown us over the years. We are proud to be able to meet the increasing demand while continuing to deliver with high quality and reliability. With the new premises, we have a greater opportunity to do this.
We are both proud and grateful to be in this exciting phase and look forward to the completion of the construction.

Using the same heat transfer on different colored garments
There are times when you would like to use the same heat transfer on garments with various colors. You might have a black heat transfer, for example. This works well on a white shirt but not on black pants.
One way around this is to add a white outline around the design. This makes it visible on both black and white garments.
Another option is to choose a grey color. The logo will keep its appearance, it still has a neutral color and will be clearly visible on both black and white materials. You can find three different grey PMS shades among our standard colors, as well as a silver metallic.

Improved heat-seal machine
We work continuously to develop our heat-seal machines, in order to give them new features and implement improvements. During last year we started the production of the latest model of our heat press, Perma 2, and this is now our standard model. One advantage of the new model is that the frame is welded solid and this gives the press even better stability. As a consequence, there are now two options, a table model or a floor model.
More improvements:
- Start button on the front
- Frame welded solid
- Cross-hair laser as standard
- Larger size heat element (40 x 50 cm) can be ordered as an option
- Easier access to the air pressure regulator
You can find more information about our heat transfer presses under Heat-seal machines including details on the models, measurements and qualities of our Perma 2.
Sponsor for Onsala BK (football club)

As of this year, Perma Press is the proud sponsor of Onsala BK and we are also the supplier of all heat transfers for the club for the coming 4 years. In the picture you can see the CEO for Perma Press, Alice Norheim and COO Mattias Forsberg together with Club Manager Per Eld.
Our graphic designers can transform a logo and give it an embroidery look. The logo is printed as an EcoFlex CMYK transfer where pixels and shadings create the illusion of embroidery.
These are some things to keep in mind when you want to create a logo with embroidery effect:
- The artwork must be a vector file.
- It might be difficult to put embroidery onto thin lines and small text. The effect is stronger and nicer if you avoid too many details and very small details.
- If the logo has shaded areas, these will need to be changed to one color areas.
Adding embroidery effect is a simple way to give for example a plain text logo a more luxurious look.
Example of logo with and without embroidery effect.

There are some advantages to choosing a heat transfer with embroidery effect rather than regular stitch embroidery. The heat transfer has no limits in the amount of colors used. This is something which has to be considered when using regular embroidery. Using a heat transfer makes it possible to combine the embroidery effect with details without embroidery effect in the same heat transfer.
Another advantage is that you can apply a heat transfer to a garment with thin fabric where regular embroidery would feel stiff and be difficult to attach with good result. Using a heat transfer is also preferable in cases where you do not want to puncture the fabric, for example rainwear. A heat transfer has a shorter application time compared to stitch embroidery which makes the production easier.
